EXCITING UPDATE!!

What's this?  A cartoon version of Ariale and the boyfriend?  Read on and find out!
Woah a month has gone by without a new post *bad Ariale.*  I've got to admit though, I was kind of waiting until my EXCITING NEW UPDATE launched so I could tell everyone about it (whether they like it or not muahahaha).

So let me open by saying: I HAVE AN EXCITING NEW UPDATE!  No I'm not famous....no I have not successfully added 20 extra hours to everyday so that everyone has time for everything including a 20 hour nap.........but just as exciting, I started a comic strip!  It is called "Off the Rock" and it is basically a shorter, cartoon version of this blog :)  So if ever you come to my blog and you think to yourself "geez woman can talk," feel free to go to http://www.offtherockcomics.com/ and see the shorter, to the point version! xD Make sure you follow on social media so you can stay updated.  I will be posting every Wednesday!

Now that I am done with my shameless self-promotion.....I should talk about Shorts-N-Stuff!  If you all remember, Shorts-N-Stuff is an event that 7-Waves Entertainment puts on as a way to showcase short films, live acts, and artists.  Last month's theme was horror and they wanted us to dress up!  I was super excited until I realized I had no costume ideas.  So we roamed California looking through costume stores only to find costumes with the world's SHORTEST skirts for $60.  Seriously my mouth like dropped and I was like "WTH?  I already own the world's shortest skirts and that's free!" so I decided to make my own costume :D
In reality though, the boyfriend REALLY wanted to go as Adventure Time (I love being all grown-up) so having no ideas of my own and no way out of it, I let him have his way!

So here I am in the full get-up.  I am Fionna from Fionna & Cake (In other words: Adventure Time) Kind of nerdy right?
I spent like two days crocheting that hat and we spent all afternoon shopping looking for the best clothing we could find.  We randomly found a sword in a craft store and then wrapped it in pink duct tape!

Needless to say, Shorts-N-Stuff was AWESOME.  Here are a plethora of photos :D

And here is a video of it! (Since the boyfriend is in video productions, I might as well post a video xD)
http://vimeo.com/77886005

I almost forgot, the boyfriend and I also started a new business called Opposite Ends Designs.  We came up with that name when the boyfriend was pitching names to me and I said no every time.  Apparently I'm difficult.  So we ended up with Opposite Ends Designs and it's fitting because we have very different interests so we can help everyone on either side of the spectrum.  We do web design and graphic design and it kind of serves as the boyfriend's day job :)  Check us out!:
http://www.oppositeendsdesigns.com/

We went to so many events this month, it's exciting.  One of the ones we went to was NBC Universal Short Cuts Festival.  Most of them were really great and that's coming from someone who hates short films.  So often they leave you hanging at the end supposedly so you can "imagine" your own ending.  Ain't nobody got time for that!  I'm way too lazy to imagine how it ended, why you won't tell me??  This is not a resume boosting moment so let's just pretend like it didn't happen.....Anyways, it was super cute, if you posted a photo on Instagram and hashtagged #nbcushorts (or something, I don't remember) then they printed the photo on the spot!!  Was soooo cute and now I have the below photo in my wallet:

Also, in addition to that, I saw one of the Wayans brothers!!!  I WAS LIKE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHT?  But I was cool and didn't force him to take a photo with me because I'm not one of those pathetic celebrity stalkers....and I was only able to get close enough to photograph the back of his head and I met him when he visited Hawaii......so I no have photo.  But he was there!!!!  Not that that matters......

Hmmm so let's see, what else is new with me huh?
Oh right, I got a new hair style!

It appears the water here is great for growth on my hair has grown like crazy!!!!  (That is a lie hahaha don't come here thinking your hair will grow).  I got to debut my new hairstyle the next week at a premiere party for a friend!.......of course I didn't know anybody at the party so they didn't know my hair was different...but I was excited nonetheless!

The premiere party was for our friend, Clayton Thomas, who was a guest star on "My Crazy Roommate."  He was AMAZING!  SO FUNNY!  Can't wait to see him in other shows, he was so great.  Apparently, he will have another one in December so I won't be disappointed!

http://www.iamclaytonthomas.com/
As an extra bonus, who also showed up but one of the Wayans brothers' nephew!!!  I thought he was a brother because there's like a million of them but then I Googled it and found out he was a nephew.  This was just a month of Wayans sightings xD

Gregg Wayans
The next week, we worked an event where we had the very hard task of watching the red carpet.  Who knew you could make money sitting around watching things?  Oh wait no security guards do that nevermind. Anyways, we were working HARD at the event watching the red carpet.....playing pokemon and crocheting, and then we decide that we should get on the red carpet and work it....

So much happened this past week and I feel bad that I didn't get to go as much in detail.  I just decided that instead of pouring every detail of my life into this blog so those who avidly read this, I would just call my mom directly :D  Seemed like a photo blog and I barely insulted anyone so I can't say this is my best work. Next blog post, I will for sure make someone laugh, make someone cry, and make someone clean my room because dear goodness that place is a landfill..........might even make a comic strip about that......

Until Next Time!

Pretty Much a Boyfriend Update

Finally making it to the stage?

So it appears that I owe my audience another blog post........or 5.  A LOT has been happening and it is soooo exciting!  I'm so proud of the boyfriend :)  I of course no longer have time for the daily breakdown so lets just call this CATCH UP!  I could go for some Ketchup right now....

Although I have talked about the boyfriend having an internship, I don't remember if I said where and it seems too tedious to go back through my awesome blog posts as I don't think I could handle my own awesomeness (sounds legit).  Anyways, he is an intern for 7-Waves Entertainment (http://www.7-waves.com/) where he essentially serves as Producer's assistant.  I bring that back up because he got that internship by applying to another internship.  That producer decided that the boyfriend would be better suited for 7-Waves but still said he can help with his website development....and then we never heard from him again >_<

And then one magical day, he gets a text from him saying that he will pay him to work on his website. WOOOOOHOOOOO!  The boyfriend is officially a freelancer!!! :D  SOOOOO exciting!  He even updated his portfolio website! http://www.williammylesgray.com/

Following that happening, 7-Waves had its FIRST event called "Shorts-n-Stuff," an event that will now be monthly with different themes featuring shorts films, live acts, and artists.  The boyfriend was to help set-up and help run the event.........which meant he got to sit at the door, hand out flyers, and ask people to put their information on the sign-up sheet....hahaha very important nonetheless of course.

I quickly took this picture and then had to ditch him...waaaht???  I am here for the PARTY.  And I wasn't leaving till they threw me out.....

I had a great time!  The show was great as I knew it would be since the theme was "Comedy."  There were three comedians there (I OF COURSE am waaaaay better but I had to man the booth and make sure the seats were warm and that aliens wouldn't attack so unfortunately I was unable to go up), who were great and three really funny films.

Enjoying the show :)
I finally got to network and I met 3 great people that I hope I get to see at next month's event and take a million pictures with them!  One of the people we met was the lovely Priscilla Leona, producer of a very popular radio show called "Question Reality." (http://www.latalkradio.com/Priscilla.php)  Why is it popular? Because she interviews people in the entertainment industry, including celebrities, to inspire those who came to California to "make it."  So obviously everyone in California listens to it xD  We listened to her for at least two hours that night because she had so many interesting stories and information.

After the event, they had a little "red carpet" photo shoot.  Look at us on the red carpet!

Look at us, we're famous now, our work here is done.  I am now selling my autograph for $50 a pop.  Any takers?

Back to reality (I am now officially qualified to give out reality checks if anyone is interested in commissioning someone to hand those out): Now I must admit that the boyfriend and I have an addiction to Pet Smart....we go into everytime we go to Walmart........which means we live there.  So now......we volunteer there.  Here's the story:

When we got the boyfriend's cat, she hadn't been spayed.  Which super weird because my cat is younger and she was spayed.  We figure it is because his cat is a special breed and she is absolutely beautiful so they didn't spay her in case the person who adopted her wanted to breed her.  Well um no, I would never want to do that to my baby.  So we had to go get her spayed which was literally painful for us because she is already so jumpy and scared of everything, we were afraid she would hate us forever.  Anyways, we are at the vet and we speak to a lady who ends up being the person we see every Saturday at PetSmart holding dog adoptions.  After speaking with her we definitely decide we want to help out.  So now, we pick a day or more during the week where we go their kennels and help walk the dogs and show them some love.  We also go to PetSmart on adoption days and walk around telling people about the dogs in hopes that they want to adopt. Right now, we are giving three puppies that were found in the middle of nowhere full of worms, fleas, and I don't know what else, all our love and attention as they are in the healing stages right now.  They are so cute!
This is McKinley.  He is the oldest and WANTS your attention....especially if you are giving someone else attention.  HE wants it!

This is Klondike.  He is GORGEOUS and SOOO fluffy you could DIE!!  He looks like a sheep and a pig it is literally so cute.
This is Shasta.  He is a little scaredy puppy and you can tell he has some owies on his face which just makes him all the more precious.
We just love the puppies so much and we want to take one home soooo bad....even though we can barely handle our crazy kitties xD  So we decided to just stick with our kitties :)

COOLEST NEWS EVER BTW:
Milkshake can FETCH.  And I thought Domino was the dog.
I noticed that Milkshake was always picking up the ball so one day I asked her to bring it back to me and she did!!!  The boyfriend, so smart, actually recorded it though:

Now that we are kind of up-to-date, I want to talk about this week because it was quite AWESOME.  7-Waves has a few scripts that they wanted to present to the owner of the company that owns 7-Waves so after doing casting several weeks ago, it was time to present it to the owner.  They do this by having a script reading.  There were two scripts and they were practicing the first one on Monday, the second one on Tuesday, and doing the actual presentation on Wednesday.  Unfortunately, the one on Monday was quite early so I missed it due to work.  I got to go on Tuesday though and man was I EXCITED....maybe a little bit too excited....it was kind of a dinky theatre but I felt like I was on Broadway!

Anyways, I'm watching the actors read and there are some parts that weren't "cast."  The reason being that these actors are taking time out of their day even though there is not only no guarantee of the film actually being made but there is also no guarantee that if it does get made that they are even going to be cast in the film!  So there is no point in bringing in actors to read 1 line.  That's where I come in.  They asked me if I wanted to read and I'm like HECK YES!!!!!!!!  At the end of it, they think I'm quite awesome and ask if I can read the next day at the official reading sitting on the stage with the other actors and I'm just so excited! Again.....too excited, but I don't care.  I love being included!

So on Wednesday, I got to be down there on stage with all of them which was super exciting.  I mostly played men >_<.  And I was AWESOME!  We did great but I don't think the script will be picked up because there are too many loose ends and some things that weren't believable like certain relationships within the script.  I really liked it but I think it needed to be longer to fix whatever issues it had.

Me up there reading!  So exciting!

It's all good, I had something VERY important to do anyways.  I found out the night before that the only female in the film (besides me :D) was a recurring cast member on Pretty Little Liars!!!!!  So my very important thing to do was to get a freaking picture!

P.S. She will also be a recurring cast member on The Tomorrow People which premiers Wednesday!

It's Aeriel Miranda!!!  She has straight hair in Pretty Little Liars so it might be hard to tell but it is her I swear!!!
Basically, I am slowly becoming a star....just because I know stars :D  That counts right?  Famous by association?

Well we have a lot of things going on here so I will definitely have a lot more updates coming up since the boyfriend has another "Shorts-N-Stuff" coming up with 7-Waves.  I will be sure to not let too much time pass by next time.  Now that we are no longer sitting around the house all day seeing which one of us can get on the others' nerves faster, I have a lot more to talk about rather than providing a score board of our arguments (which also isn't interesting because of course it's Ariale: 30923 and Boyfriend: -5....don't know how that's possible but it is).

Until next time!!!...........press the follow button :D

Time to Catch-Up

Yin and Yang :)

Alright so it may have been a long time since I've posted.  Let's just say I was attacked by a ferocious, man-eating, fear inducing, savage dog.  Here is an exact recreation....with a man's foot.

Now you can see why I've been absent for two weeks.

Honestly, a lot has happened in the last two weeks.  So let's rewind time......

Sunday I went to my boss' house to work which was good because we needed to work together one on one so we can get on the same page.  After working all day at his house, I got to go to the office!  It was pretty cool....and a mess, but the conference room looked really nice!

I love conference rooms.  Then he showed me somethings they get hired to make....which I cannot remember the name of.....

I shall call you snakey and you shall be my snakey.
Good and productive day but unfortunately, what do I do?  I leave my power cord at his house.....and realize it Monday morning.  The boyfriend needs the car in 3 hours and there is no way that I am going to make it all the way to his house and back in morning traffic in 3 hours and we honestly can't afford that gas.  So we decide to have me drive to his house and grab the cord and then the boyfriend tells me that I can work at his job until it's time for him to leave.

 I made a MESSSSSSSSSSSS.
That was really upsetting though because I wasted like half of the day.  I ended up working till like 8pm to make up for it.

My company is trying to use post cards as a way of informing people of our existence so I spent Tuesday printing up postcards and then sending them out.

Had to put 180 stamps on.  That took a good 10 minutes.
Also, the boyfriend got a sticker to put on his now broken computer...oh the irony.

So cute!!!!  He will be making this his project and try to fix it.  Why not? :)

So really that was all that happened during the week, all the big stuff happened that Saturday.

FINALLY after several months (wait have I been here long enough to say several....June...July...August...not really but I like the exaggeration so I shall keep it there), we FINALLY went to recycle our bottles.  We have been buying water bottles after water bottle because the water that comes out of the fridge that is supposedly filtered is super gross.  Plus, the boyfriend's brother always has a BUNCH of soda so we had plenty to recycle :)

It was basically like recycling in Hawaii except that when you go to the cashier, they give you a receipt and tell you to go to a liquor store and they will give you your money.  Thought that store would be super far away but it is just on the opposite side.  We could've walked if we knew it was literally right there.

Next, we tried a yard sale.  We are looking for super cheap bikes but everyone here is selling them for $50. They look like they are worth $50 but we just don't have it.  But it is interesting to see what people are selling.  When we need furniture to furnish our future apartment (if we cannot get it already furnished), there is a lot of good, clean stuff at these yard sales.

Next, we got the boyfriend a hair cut!!!

Boyfriend got a lollipop for being a good boy.  I took it from him.  He is actually a bad boy xD
After that, we went to the bank.
Found out by the way that California forgot to put my test results in so I was never going to get my license anyways.  Greeeeeat.  So I made an appointment to go to the DMV and fix it.  It's not for a while.  My point with that is that I still was unable to go to open a bank account.  Had to deposit my paycheck somewhere though so we still went to the bank to deposit it in my bank account at home.

Nearby the bank was a Goodwill.  We decided to have a look around and nothing really interesting but their advertising on the outside was pretty funny.  Ring a bell?

I wear my Grandad's clothes...I look incredible....I'm gonna pop some tags....

Only got $20 in my pocket........this is flipping awesome!
After that, we went back home and informed the boyfriend's brother......that we would be coming home with cats.  Yep that's right, even though we are poor and aren't even living on our own, we were getting cats.  The day before, we went in PetSmart and looked at the kitties just to make ourselves cry basically because there was no way we would ACTUALLY get cats right now.  But then the boyfriend saw the cat that he just HAD to have.  Immediately.  And she was ADORABLE.

Well there was no way I could tell him no as I am officially the "NO police" and it is my job to say no and the boyfriend's job to be the "LaLaLa Police" where everything is magical and rainbows and money grows on trees.  So I decided that it would be ok for us to have cats because we both really want one and a person can't just sit in the house day in and day out and not spend money.  That leads to misery.  Cats lead to cuteness!!!  I have great rationale.

So at 2pm on Saturday, we went to go buy the cat.........and a second cat to keep her company :D  His and her cats!!  I got a photo of the boyfriend holding the cat at PetSmart and then a photo of my cat in the bottom right:

We bring them home bouncing up and down in their box carriers and we have to set up all their stuff....in our bathroom :/  Wanted all their potty stuff in the downstairs bathroom because I don't like kitty stuff in a bathroom that I use but it is super far away and it is mostly the boyfriend's brother's bathroom so in our bathroom it goes.  We made it look pretty nice though!

And now our phones and cameras are full of kitty pictures.  They are soooo cuuuuute!

We had to give the boyfriend's kitty a little bath to get her to smell better.  My cat smelled the same but she was just spayed so we have to wait two weeks.

Poor thing, his cat is SO JUMPY!  He names his cat Milk Shake but really she should be called Thumper because as soon as you try to come anywhere near her or even enter a room she HOPS, not runs, HOPS away as fast as she can.  She is a little fraidy kitty.

My cat on the otherhand, who two weeks later, I still haven't named :/, is a little terror.  She is so adorable but she is kinda mean to the boyfriend's cat.  And she is a little begger!  Every time we go to eat, she is on top of us.  We have to lock her in the bathroom while we eat.  The other one doesn't do that at all.  I can kind of understand why she does it though since, if you look at our cats, the boyfriend's cat is bigger than my cat and it turns out my cat is older.  My cat NEEDS some food.  They are starting to love each other now though and it is really cute :)

And when we sleep, they both crawl into bed with us and sleep between us.  <3  Love our little kitties.

The following week, nothing much happened except for us loving on our kitties and getting them used to us and the house.  It was really funny, the boyfriend's brother, instead of ignoring them like we had expected, actually comes home and plays with them!  It's really funny because it was SO unexpected.

We bought them toys and the boyfriend's brother gave us shoe strings and they love it the toys.  Most of them came with a little bag of weed!  The boyfriend says it is catnip but I'm not so sure *suspicious.*

I will make a video eventually because they are so gosh darn adorable.

Saturday rolled around again and we tried yard sales again because our community was having a community yard sale.  So I made the boyfriend get up at 7am to look for bikes again and still the going rate is $50. Darn it.  Almost bought a CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printer for $50 though.  Really want a desktop computer but we found out that it was running Windows XP and had very little memory and while it would be cheaper to fix that up than get a brand new one, I don't exactly have a use for it right now and I always ALWAYS have to be so cheap and for once, I want to have something new and running the best. So I will wait until I can afford the best computer.  I think I deserve to be picky on one thing in my life.

After we got back, the boyfriend made pancakes with yogurt in them and an omelette with ham.  YUUMMMY!!!!!

Honestly doesn't look that pretty but it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That brings us back today.  I need a name for my cat!  Please help!  Right now, I am calling her Domino, or Domo for short :)  Haven't made it official yet though and I welcome ideas!

Oh and those of you interested in the smurfs, check out my stepdad's sketch cards :)

Alright sorry to overdose everyone with cuteness ^_^
