Time to Catch-Up

Alright so it may have been a long time since I've posted.  Let's just say I was attacked by a ferocious, man-eating, fear inducing, savage dog.  Here is an exact recreation....with a man's foot.

Now you can see why I've been absent for two weeks.

Honestly, a lot has happened in the last two weeks.  So let's rewind time......

Sunday I went to my boss' house to work which was good because we needed to work together one on one so we can get on the same page.  After working all day at his house, I got to go to the office!  It was pretty cool....and a mess, but the conference room looked really nice!

I love conference rooms.  Then he showed me somethings they get hired to make....which I cannot remember the name of.....

I shall call you snakey and you shall be my snakey.

Good and productive day but unfortunately, what do I do?  I leave my power cord at his house.....and realize it Monday morning.  The boyfriend needs the car in 3 hours and there is no way that I am going to make it all the way to his house and back in morning traffic in 3 hours and we honestly can't afford that gas.  So we decide to have me drive to his house and grab the cord and then the boyfriend tells me that I can work at his job until it's time for him to leave. 

 I made a MESSSSSSSSSSSS.

That was really upsetting though because I wasted like half of the day.  I ended up working till like 8pm to make up for it.  

My company is trying to use post cards as a way of informing people of our existence so I spent Tuesday printing up postcards and then sending them out.

Had to put 180 stamps on.  That took a good 10 minutes.

Also, the boyfriend got a sticker to put on his now broken computer...oh the irony.

So cute!!!!  He will be making this his project and try to fix it.  Why not? :)

So really that was all that happened during the week, all the big stuff happened that Saturday. 

FINALLY after several months (wait have I been here long enough to say several....June...July...August...not really but I like the exaggeration so I shall keep it there), we FINALLY went to recycle our bottles.  We have been buying water bottles after water bottle because the water that comes out of the fridge that is supposedly filtered is super gross.  Plus, the boyfriend's brother always has a BUNCH of soda so we had plenty to recycle :)

It was basically like recycling in Hawaii except that when you go to the cashier, they give you a receipt and tell you to go to a liquor store and they will give you your money.  Thought that store would be super far away but it is just on the opposite side.  We could've walked if we knew it was literally right there.  

Next, we tried a yard sale.  We are looking for super cheap bikes but everyone here is selling them for $50. They look like they are worth $50 but we just don't have it.  But it is interesting to see what people are selling.  When we need furniture to furnish our future apartment (if we cannot get it already furnished), there is a lot of good, clean stuff at these yard sales.  

Next, we got the boyfriend a hair cut!!!

Boyfriend got a lollipop for being a good boy.  I took it from him.  He is actually a bad boy xD

After that, we went to the bank.

Found out by the way that California forgot to put my test results in so I was never going to get my license anyways.  Greeeeeat.  So I made an appointment to go to the DMV and fix it.  It's not for a while.  My point with that is that I still was unable to go to open a bank account.  Had to deposit my paycheck somewhere though so we still went to the bank to deposit it in my bank account at home.

Nearby the bank was a Goodwill.  We decided to have a look around and nothing really interesting but their advertising on the outside was pretty funny.  Ring a bell?

Only got $20 in my pocket........this is flipping awesome!

After that, we went back home and informed the boyfriend's brother......that we would be coming home with cats.  Yep that's right, even though we are poor and aren't even living on our own, we were getting cats.  The day before, we went in PetSmart and looked at the kitties just to make ourselves cry basically because there was no way we would ACTUALLY get cats right now.  But then the boyfriend saw the cat that he just HAD to have.  Immediately.  And she was ADORABLE.

Well there was no way I could tell him no as I am officially the "NO police" and it is my job to say no and the boyfriend's job to be the "LaLaLa Police" where everything is magical and rainbows and money grows on trees.  So I decided that it would be ok for us to have cats because we both really want one and a person can't just sit in the house day in and day out and not spend money.  That leads to misery.  Cats lead to cuteness!!!  I have great rationale.

So at 2pm on Saturday, we went to go buy the cat.........and a second cat to keep her company :D  His and her cats!!  I got a photo of the boyfriend holding the cat at PetSmart and then a photo of my cat in the bottom right:

We bring them home bouncing up and down in their box carriers and we have to set up all their stuff....in our bathroom :/  Wanted all their potty stuff in the downstairs bathroom because I don't like kitty stuff in a bathroom that I use but it is super far away and it is mostly the boyfriend's brother's bathroom so in our bathroom it goes.  We made it look pretty nice though!

And now our phones and cameras are full of kitty pictures.  They are soooo cuuuuute!

We had to give the boyfriend's kitty a little bath to get her to smell better.  My cat smelled the same but she was just spayed so we have to wait two weeks.

Poor thing, his cat is SO JUMPY!  He names his cat Milk Shake but really she should be called Thumper because as soon as you try to come anywhere near her or even enter a room she HOPS, not runs, HOPS away as fast as she can.  She is a little fraidy kitty.  

My cat on the otherhand, who two weeks later, I still haven't named :/, is a little terror.  She is so adorable but she is kinda mean to the boyfriend's cat.  And she is a little begger!  Every time we go to eat, she is on top of us.  We have to lock her in the bathroom while we eat.  The other one doesn't do that at all.  I can kind of understand why she does it though since, if you look at our cats, the boyfriend's cat is bigger than my cat and it turns out my cat is older.  My cat NEEDS some food.  They are starting to love each other now though and it is really cute :)

And when we sleep, they both crawl into bed with us and sleep between us.  <3  Love our little kitties.

The following week, nothing much happened except for us loving on our kitties and getting them used to us and the house.  It was really funny, the boyfriend's brother, instead of ignoring them like we had expected, actually comes home and plays with them!  It's really funny because it was SO unexpected.  

We bought them toys and the boyfriend's brother gave us shoe strings and they love it the toys.  Most of them came with a little bag of weed!  The boyfriend says it is catnip but I'm not so sure *suspicious.* 

I will make a video eventually because they are so gosh darn adorable.

Saturday rolled around again and we tried yard sales again because our community was having a community yard sale.  So I made the boyfriend get up at 7am to look for bikes again and still the going rate is $50. Darn it.  Almost bought a CPU, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and printer for $50 though.  Really want a desktop computer but we found out that it was running Windows XP and had very little memory and while it would be cheaper to fix that up than get a brand new one, I don't exactly have a use for it right now and I always ALWAYS have to be so cheap and for once, I want to have something new and running the best. So I will wait until I can afford the best computer.  I think I deserve to be picky on one thing in my life.

After we got back, the boyfriend made pancakes with yogurt in them and an omelette with ham.  YUUMMMY!!!!!

Honestly doesn't look that pretty but it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That brings us back today.  I need a name for my cat!  Please help!  Right now, I am calling her Domino, or Domo for short :)  Haven't made it official yet though and I welcome ideas!

An Un-Adventurous Week

Day 52: Monday

So I'm looking on Facebook and I find out that Hurricane Flossie (wtf name is that?) is headed towards Hawaii and so I text my mom "why you no tell me hurricane is headed to Hawaii?!?!?!" Because she knows I like to freak out when there is a potential disaster. Why? So I can say "I told you so." For example, everyone was all freaked out about 2012. I was pretty sure nothing was going to happen but I decided to freak out anyways so when the world ended, I could be like "TOLD YOU SO!" Logic people. Anyways, my mom replies "What storm? I didn't know there was a storm.  It's been a little rainy...." HAHAHAHA wasn't she in a world of surprise when she turned on the television and learned of the storm heading her way and that her classes were cancelled because of it xD

Boyfriend got his first assignment from his internship!  He had to do.....something.......video related....um they gave him a script to read and make notes or something.  I make his major sound so interesting, I should just advertise that!

Welp, not gonna lie, Monday was boring.  Fed some more chicken to the the characters on TV....and forced Winnie the Pooh to eat his cereal.  Watch how we improved Finding Nemo some more:

Day 53: Tuesday

Well Tuesday followed Monday and nothing much happened.  I woke up early and was like "hey!  My boyfriend needs lunch when he goes to work!" so I make him a nice little lunch using what we currently have consisting of.......junk food.  I gave him a cup cake, chips, crackers......an apple and a sandwich :D  We honestly didn't have any healthy stuff so I did my best.  He wakes up and says "Hey Ariale, I think you should make me lunch."  I was sooooo pissed.  I was like "I AM NOT A STAY AT HOME WIFE!  I HAVE A JOB!  Plus, I already made it so there.  I think I've made my case."  He ruins surprises.  

Unfortunately, the boyfriend's computer is broken again and we have little hope that it is ever going to be revived again :/  He just keeps messing and messing with it but MACs are a pain and once they are broken, Apple has basically made sure that it's going to stay that way.  Is it obvious I'm pro-PC?  haha if this happened to me, I would laugh and just go buy another one.  Not a big deal.  His MAC is broken, we're now looking at having to spend $2,000 to replace it.  YIKES.  So he is going to have to keep messing with that thing until we're absolutely sure that that is what we are going to have to do :/

Day 54: Wednesday

So now officially the boyfriend has a job.  It was super annoying because his employer was avoiding saying if he was going to get paid for some really weird reason but he finally got an answer out of the man.  He has got a job!  His title: Studio Producer.  Sounds so legit :)  And he took some pictures for me!

I'm loving the green screen :)  Looks magical!  I could be standing in there and have a thousand magical ponies dancing behind me!  Or I could hang out with Winnie the Pooh!  Dream come true :DDD

Day 55: Thursday

The boyfriend never eats breakfast but today he was up kind of early so i tell him YOU NEED TO GO EAT BREAKFAST. I can't make it unfortunately becauseI'm  working.  I'm still able to yell at him though and I make sure I take advantage of all my opportunities.  He sends me this photo and says "Breakfast. Made it myself :)" 

Kind of expected to get my paycheck today..............and then my boss calls me and lets me know he just put it in the mail.  Umm....I wanted it now :(  hahaha Well hopefully since payday was supposed to be this Monday, it'll mean that now I just have to wait a week for my next paycheck.  Does this makes sense? Blah, blah, blah MONEY!    

Day 56: Friday

Finally got my first paycheck!  I finally feel like I'm contributing......to my bank account haha.  Now we have to save, save, save, save.  Still doing everything we can that is possible to fix the boyfriend's computer.  So we went all over the planet looking for a triwing screwdriver which Walmart said they had so we went straight there.  We spent 30 minutes there looking for the darn thing and getting the weirdest looks from everyone when we asked if they had a triwing screwdriver.  This was at like 9pm.  We had nowhere else to go.  We wanted to go to Home Depot because they have everything but we were sure it was too late.  We looked up their store hours though and lucky for us, it was open till 10!  So we hoped in the car and went right on over.  We weren't going to play games in Home Depot like we did in Walmart.  Those rows are intimidating they are SOOOOO tall.  So we went up to the workers and asked if they knew where it was.  They sent us to row 11.  We couldn't find it so we asked someone else and they sent us to row 3.   Since we couldn't find it there, we decided to ask someone else again.  They sent us to row 11.  We go back to row 11 and when they ask if we found it, we were like "no and we asked again and they sent us here."  They told us that most likely it would be at some place like Radio Shack.  No way we'd get lucky again and it be open.  We will have to be patient and look tomorrow.

Also, before we went on that fun little adventure, we ate the boyfriend's brother's orange chicken :D  We REALLY wanted orange chicken and we were sure he wouldn't miss it haha We essentially made ourselves a Panda Bowl which was pretty awesome as I am missing Panda Express just a bit.  Why so expensive Panda Express????

Day 57: Saturday

Time to open up a bank account!  I've got a paycheck and I know how to use it :D  Or not use it rather.  I know how to not use it actually as I am putting it in the bank to not touch it.  We find a bank that we can not only open up a bank account at but we can also deposit money in our bank accounts from home!  That's pretty exciting.  When we get there, there are so many signs saying "Open up a FREE checking account now!"  Well I love those words.  I'm loving it there but then they come up to us and ask for ID.  I forgot to mention that I STILL haven't received my California license.  I tried to give them my Hawaii's driver's license and my temporary license but it STILL wasn't enough.  Seriously??  So I didn't get a bank account :(  California, you suck.  This feels like Spain all over again.  It took FOREVER to get anything done.  Anyways, we'll be going back there next weekend.......when I hopefully have a license.  

Now it was time to hit up Costco and get snacks for the boyfriends' lunches.  HEALTHY food.  So naturally we got cookies, gummies, and chips.  Woohoo!  just kidding, I was able to buy more apples for him :)  We also got some yogurt and juice!  Everybody loves juice.  

Ended the night with a walk to Cici's Pizza to celebrate the both of us being employed!  We had been wanting to go there for a long time but I thought it was too expensive and we just didn't have a reason to.  So when I walked in there and found out that we could have a buffet of pizza and pasta, I was in a WORLD of surprise.  I LOVE THAT PLACE!!!  Seriously, that might have to be a once a week thing for lunch or something.  Wish that was possible.  Pretty sure we're having all of our celebrations from now on there.  LOVED IT.

Did I stutter?  hahaha We LOVED it.

I miss the adventures and I need to get out of this house!  Tomorrow I will be working so I get one day off during the week :D  Hopefully I can get out of  the house and bring stupidity back into the world.  I'm sure it has missed me muahahahaha.

Lastly, please watch "Whose Line is It Anyways?" because I love that show and I will cry if they cancel it again.  BEST. SHOW. EVER.
