An artistic depiction of an example of an awful picture. No, no, don't try to read that again, it made no sense. |
Day 27: Tuesday
News on the Job Front:
Got an email on Monday saying that a company was having Introduction calls on Tuesday from 9:30am to 1:00pm and to email them back when I was available. I look at their website and I remember feeling like they were a scam but I applied to them anyways just in case. Why not? Scams need friends too. I emailed them back my availability on Monday and no response. So on Tuesday I know that since I said I'm completely available, they can call as early as 9:30 am. Problem is, I can no longer wake up at 9:30. WHY DID I SAY I WAS COMPLETELY AVAILABLE??? I woke up at 8am and then passed out. Woke up at 8:30am and then passed out. Gave up on waking up at 9am and then woke up at 9:30am and checked my email. They had emailed me 20 minutes earlier saying they would call at 9:50 am. Well at least they gave me time to.....literally do nothing.
20 minutes to look more into the job. So at 9:50am, I got a phone call and basically they said they are a company that hosts events in Costco and Sams Club. Also, since they don't believe in hiring people from the outside into management positions, I would go through a training program for 6-8 months or something. Is that ok? Ok great, we'll call back at 4 and let you know if we want to call you in for an interview.
While I waited unenthusiastically, we go on an epic quest for a new fan. Because even though we have curtains now, 3 fans in our room, and have even pulled the fan that is in the living room up into our room. we are STILL HOT. Boyfriend can't take much more. Ariale's grouchy and starts talking in third person when she's hot. Sounds like I have hot flashes now omgaaaaah. So I just say "the heck with it, let's just spend the extra money to get a good fan so we don't go spend the same amount of money buying 100 cheap fans." Didn't even have to say it out loud, we were going to Walmart! And even though literally two days ago they had fans everywhere, they are like completely out this week :/ Bad Walmart. So we try Costco....gotta check it out some more since I might be "hosting events" in there in the future >_<
We walk all up and down every single aisle.......ok fine, just the ones with samples in them....and we only find ceiling fans so we go all the way back to the front and ask someone where the fans are and I SPECIFICALLY say NOT ceiling fans but floor fans. They send us to aisle 121...oh good, in the very back. By the way, 121 is a great isle if you are looking for ceiling fans. We were not. The boyfriend thinks that Office Max might have some though so we walk over there. They don't. I knew they didn't. But if you recall, I am a giver and I wanted to GIVE my boyfriend the illusion that he was correct. Sometimes I wish I could hire someone to just pat my back for my awesomeness. I get mighty tired doing it myself all the time.
On the way back to the car, we notice there is a Home Depot! YAY! So we walk in there and see the type of fan we were wanting in Walmart and we buy it. We go to self-checkout and there is a monitor on it so that we can LITERALLY check ourselves out! Nice Home Depot, you shall be my new Disneyland.

Sneak photos!! |
Back to the job thing: They call back of course (jobs that nobody wants usually call back) and they say I will have an interview with a hiring manager in.......Sam's Club....and to be sure to call the person so they can let me in. Um yeah that sounds legit.
Good news is we finally got our room together!! We are finally cold!!!!!!!!! Omgah! So first we set up our new fan which is a challenge since it is one of those fans you stick sideways into the window but we don't have a window like that. This is what the fan should look like:
![]() |
This is how we are supposed to set it up but our window doesn't open up and down, it opens left to right. |
So we ghetto-rigged it and set it up vertically:
Our room is complete!!
Had to prop-up that fan with a box since only half of the fan was getting to us. |
Another picture of the massively huge television in our room. |
Then it is time to check the email.
THE BOYFRIEND GOT AN INTERVIEW WOOHOO!!!!
Day 28: Wednesday
WTF tomorrow is 4th of July??? We need jobs. Today should be the day we're all like "Omgaaaah, we have a day off from work and we get to spend the day together!" Instead it's all like, "Crap, we have to go outside and do something interesting because Ariale has a blog and doesn't want to appear lame."
Well because I didn't want to turn down another interview like I did the first time I got a bunch of interviews and I was positive all 3 were scams but now I think one of them was legit, I decided to go to the follow-up interview. We put Sam's Club in our GPS and were on our way. COULD. NOT. FIND. IT. Omg we go up and down the street looking for a Sam's Club and NOTHING. I know Sam's Club. I know it is huge and there is almost no way to not be able to find it. So I have to call my contact number and she says she had some scheduling conflicts and car problems so she needs to send me to an event at another Sam's Club. Oh goody. So we drive even further to another Sam's Club. We easily found it as it actually existed. That was pretty cool.
I called the contact person and he took like 5 minutes to come to the door. Then he has me tell him about myself and then takes me back to a booth. Margarita in a bag. Please let this interview continue. After watching him and the person manning the booth attempting to sell the product, he took me to some chairs being sold by Sam's Club. After about a minute, a Sam's Club employee told us we need to move because they're trying to run a business. Oh good, getting more legit by the minute. We move to the indoor food court. He tells me basically the break down of their "training program." Basically you start off working the booth basically on commission for 2-4 weeks. Then you get "promoted" where you are working the booths and the added bonus is that you get to do inventory, setting up and taking down the booths, and the second round of interviews....which means I could currently be talking to someone who has been working with the company for 5 weeks. You stay in this position for 3-5 months making commission OR $8 an hour (whichever is more) and then you become assistant manager which is apparently 80% in office and 20% still at the booth. I am guessing this "assistant manager" is who called me for the introductory call. Then you become marketing manager where you are in charge of 7-9 events and you make $1,000 to $8,000 per campaign every two weeks. Basically their promise is that eventually you will be making $7,000 every two weeks and that's the worst possible situation....this is in less than a year. Sounds a little too good to be true. He told me to email them three reasons why they should hire me by 6pm. Just a preview: I didn't.
We had an appointment at the DMV at 1:55pm and the interview was done at 11:30 so we had quite a bit of time to go home and have lunch. The boyfriend made me quesadillas and made it so pretty :)
![]() |
Food being pretty makes it soooooo much yummier!!! |
And then we go to the DMV. Line out the door just like last time. MUAHAHAHAHA walked right past them :D........is the smug thing I was thinking in my head. Turns out, there was a line in the appointment line. Remember how it was super short and I was whining last time?
Line last time vs Line this time :S
We get through the line fast enough though and get our number (that's right, we were in line for JUST a number) and then we waited for about 10 minutes for our number to be called. When we got up there, I found out that due to the lightness of the car, I got a $57 refund!!!! Wooohooo!!! I love money! And also, the boyfriend just has to take a quick test so that he can get his California license. I was going to test for it as well but I didn't know that it was mandatory that I get one and I didn't study the night before. Due to the test being $32, I decided it wouldn't be funny to shell out that much money just to fail. Therefore, I will attempt to get it next week. So I get the plates and he tests for his license.

Stalker photo!!! Man I am good at undercover photo taking. |

The boyfriend finding out that he passed the test!!! He will be receiving his California license in the mail shortly!!! |
All excited that we were all registered and one of us is officially a California resident, we decided to go shopping on the way home! So we decided that we were going to have pancakes for breakfast so didn't need to buy breakfast materials. We definitely needed dessert though! Bought sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate creme pie! No idea what else we bought. Wasn't important, I already had everything I needed to have a happy holiday :D
Turns out one of the things that we bought that slipped my mind was a watermelon. We have been feeling a little homie lately and decided to adopt a watermelon. We named him Geoffrey D. Waffleberry. We let him ride up front with us and we put him in his seatbelt like the loving parents that we are ^_^.
Upon arriving home, we promptly ate like 4 of the sugar cookies. I know they are for 4th of July but I think everyone makes such a big deal out of the 4th of July that the 3rd of July gets jealous. So I ate a cookie so the 3rd would feel like part of the celebration. Is there such thing as a Giver of the Year Award?
So we are kind of like in love with our room now. It is the correct temperature, we can watch TV together, and be on our computers separately while being right next to each other. LOVE IT. Plus, I keep eating everything I see so I like our room because it is farther away from food. My point is, we decide to have a little movie night. We got the movie "Identity Thief," and coupled that with popcorn and hot chocolate.....which I drank all of before I had the opportunity to photograph it. (Resume Boost: Immediately takes advantage of opportunities)
Such a good way to end the night.
Day 29: Thursday
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!
![]() |
And that is the most fireworks I saw today........ |
Happy Independence Day America!
In your honor, I snuck down to the kitchen while everyone was sleeping and ate 3 sugar cookies.
You're Welcome.
The plans for today were to go see the fireworks in Corona...but they were having the fireworks at 4 and I might be desperate for something to do so I seem cool to the world, but I ain't going to no fireworks at 4. Fireworks happen at NIGHT and I will not have it in any other way. Total crap, I barely woke up at like noon and we just lounged around until I was like "Wow so it is totally past 4...." The day before though, our Regal App told us that active duty and retirees got free admission to White House Down! Since we are military dependents, that usually means we qualify for the discount so we decided to chance it and go try....oh did I mention that they boyfriend's brother was spending the day with us so even if we didn't get in for free, he would probably just pay for us all? Not that I would let him...he'd have to beg us to allow him to pay. He would have to say something like "Guys I'll pay for it" or something as dramatic as that to get me to allow him to pay. I have boundaries of course.
We pile into the boyfriend's car where I get my usual first dibs on any seat in the back although I am told that the trunk is also an option. Awww, the boyfriend's brother wants me to be able to lie down. Everyone here is so nice.
Finally we are at the movie theatre and we tell the guy that the Regal App said we could watch this movie for free so is it ok for dependents as well to watch for free? He debates it for awhile but then he goes ahead and says: "Yeah, ok but would you like to at least donate to a children's charity?" Yes of course we'll donate! We give him all we have and then we go to our free-ish movie! Eventually the "movie" starts at 6:40pm so of course we are expecting previews. By 7:05pm however, we were expecting the MOVIE and yet we were still watching previews. Omgaaaaah how long do I have to wait to see this movie???
Movie Review: This movie is AWESOME. I love everything about this movie. Go watch it.
I am an excellent reviewer of movies by the way. See how I expertly disregarded the possibility that other people may have different opinions on movies and therefore may need more information other than the fact that it was awesome before they can decide to view it? People don't need that extra fluff. They just want to go to the movies on a whim and spend $25 per person.
On the way home, I got to see fireworks!! That or I saw bird crap on the window.......you decide.....
![]() |
This is an actual firework. I decided for you again. |
Well I want to end the description of this day with a shout out to my mom. Thank you so much for all that you have done during your service in the military. I am very proud of you and all of your accomplishments. Because of you, I have gotten to travel the world, learn how to adapt to a new culture, be responsible, and you have given me a community of people that I can relate to: the military brats. Thank you Mommy, we were so lucky to have a mother that both defended her country and was there for us at every big moment. I love you Mommy. Thank you for serving.
Day 30: Friday
Boyfriend slept on my side of the bed because apparently it is colder on my side.
I hope that was interesting because that is all we did on Friday.
Actually, something interesting did happen.........we met the boyfriend's brother's girlfriend!!!! She has a face! And she is pretty! Also, she is fluent in Spanish so I will be stalking her.
Then we went to the craft store because I am seriously bored and it's time to crochet. I was so upset, it is so frigging expensive to start a hobby! I had no idea because I already own crochet needles and literally own every color on Earth of yarn (that I can never seem to find when I actually need the color >_<) but it is all at home :( Gotta start from scratch.
Ended up costing me $20! Like seriously, I might as well just buy the pokemon plushie I am trying to crochet! I got some of it done but I will be posting it later. Let's just say, the plushie has a mustache and apparently the boyfriend wanted to try it on:
hahaha so that was basically our Saturday. I spent the day applying for jobs while the boyfriend mocked me by playing games because he has an interview on Monday and when the boyfriend interviews, he gets the job. He is a charmer that one xD
I am off to finish crocheting! For those of you who don't know, my mom started a blog about going to school after 27 years :) It is pretty interesting to see how much the times have changed :D
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey baby I mustache you a question........ |
Day 30: Saturday
We went to sleep last night at like 3 am so naturally I slept in until 9:40 am. The boyfriend outdid me though and slept in until noon. I was super nice though and made him pancakes! They were terrible. Turns out that boyfriend is definitely husband material because he eats everything I made for him and even asks for more! Such a good boy. He even said it tasted good! Which it very well could have since I liked them but I have really low standards as I would a door knob if it had cheese on it. Don't make it weird.....
Speaking of not making it weird, WE HAVE ANTS!!!!! :( *Sad face* So we Febreezed the crap out of them!!! They may be invaders but we will be darned if we are going to allow them to leave without smelling their freshest!!! Then the boyfriend goes and cleans the outside windows for whatever reason while I do the dishes....the sink faces the windows and I see him doing this:
