Car Frenzy

Johnny Rockets Restaurant :)
Day 20: Tuesday

Have I  mentioned that my boyfriend is evil?
We go to sleep with one blanket on him and one blanket on me to solve the "boyfriend-keeps-taking-all-of-the-blanket-even-though-he's-always-hot-and-I'm-always-freezing" problem.  Then, I get up in the middle of night to take the world's shortest pee (Guinness World Book of Records here I come!), and I get back and literally BOTH blankets are on top of him.  NEATLY on top of him.  WTH????  How is that even possible???  I swear he is literally unconscious......there is NO way he did that on purpose....unless he can perform some sort of sorcery. Thus the conclusion that he is evil.

Oh I forgot to mention, the boyfriend has a blog on Tumblr where he has 8,000 followers!  Well it is super cool because he is now getting paid to put ads on his blog.  He gets paid every time someone clicks the ads on his page :D  Check it out if you have the time....and have the ability to click....and enjoy when Ariale *cough* I mean boyfriend *cough* has money.....

So today we start the process of registering our new car in California.  Turns out, California smokes like a chimney so we must get a smog test in order to register.  Wouldn't want to add to the pollution that is a result of California's very crappy, very much needed better public transportation.  I'm not sure if it's clear, but I think California should get some better public transportation.  Anyways, we have an appointment on Wednesday and we just want to be super-duper-aliooper califragilistically sure that we have everything we need.  We found a coupon online to go to this smog check place located somewhere so we put it in our GPS and we head out!  We go to the wrong one though but we just go with it anyways *sad face.*  It is a drive-thru smog test.  I love when things are drive-thru.  People should just drive-thru everything.  Drive-thru school, drive-thru dinner (you know, like fast food), drive-thru weddings, drive-thru naps....hmmm I can see why there is such a bad smog problem now....

Still had to get out.....how is that a drive-thru??
While we're watching our car's rear end (we're butt people), we notice that one of our brake lights are out *le gaaaaaaaaaaaasp!!!!!!*  This seems to actually happen every time I purchase a car >_<  I think that's a sign that the next time I purchase a car, I need to check the back!!  hahaha it's ok though, I just calmly freaked out to the mommy and she let me know that I probably needed to replace the bulb or something.  No big deal.  I'm calm.

WE PASSED THE SMOG TEST!!!  See?  Studying pays off.  Stay in school kids!

See how there is only ONE brake light??  ONE!??@?!?!?#RK:O#RJ
So we went to the auto parts store and we learned stuff!!  We unscrewed the light and were like  "wtf???"  So I run inside and say to the guy "ummm I has car, will help me?" or something of that intelligent nature and he comes outside and shows us how to change the light.  Super easy as I'm sure everyone in the entire world except the boyfriend and I knows.  That's fine, now the entire world knows.  We can move on now.

Now with our bright and shiny new brake light, it was time for the boyfriend to make me lunch muahahahahaha he will not allow me in the kitchen.  He just assumes I can't cook just because I never cook.  The two are not mutually exclusive!  I DO know how to do things like boil salt, fry bread, and bake cheese.  He has nothing to be afraid of.  But whatever, what he wanted was the chicken patties that Auntie Princess bought us while she was here (Thank you Auntie!!!!!!!!!!!!) which was totally for him.  So he really should be the one cooking it.  Totally landed that excuse.

Chicken Sandwich, Chips (Totally don't remember what kind), and Dr. Pepper.  YUUUUUM
Well that was lunch time at like 4pm since we left the house late and then took some time with the smog check and brake light.  The rest of the night we just applied for jobs since it appears that we still do not have one.  GRRRRRRR.  TACO BELL CALL ME!!!!

Day 21: Wednesday

Registration appointment today at 2:20 pm!  So naturally we began preparing for said appointment at 1:00pm.  After freaking out that we were missing some papers and worrying the entire family, we left with 30 minutes to spare :D (Resume boost:: AMAZING time management!!!!  Darn it, that is actually true this time.  We got there with plenty of time to spare.  That's not fun >_<).  When we get there, it does not look good, there is a line out the door!
Outside
Inside
Where you go after standing in that long long line
We are so happy the mother told us about making appointments after seeing that line (Thanks mommy!!!!!).  We just sauntered in past that line like we were royalty and got in the appointment line, which happened to be this long:

After we got through that excruciatingly long line (how dare they make royalty wait for 2 minutes), we got to the lady and she told us to go sit down and wait for our appointment time (we were 20 minutes early).  Um ok?  So we go sit down and then at 2:20, we get back in line (gah life of royalty is not easy) and she tells us to go drive our car around the building and get our car inspected (um you couldn't tell us that while we sat down for 20 minutes twiddling our thumbs?).  She did look through our papers so I guess she didn't want us to do the car inspection if we're just going to have to go home and get the correct papers.  So we do as we are told and get the car inspected:

That line of cars is for driving tests, we were in the lane next to them meaning NO LINE!! Yay!!
She passes with flying colors (I have decided that the car is a girl, like I always do with my cars........I've owned like 3 cars already....don't make it weird) of course!  Then we go right back in....and stand in the line again.  Efficient system.

This time, she hands us a number and sends us to go sit down.  It was super cool though because we turn around to go sit down and our number was called WOOHOO!  Didn't even have time to sit down.  All is going smoooooooothly.

Until we find out we are missing something.  She tells us that we are EXTREMELY well-prepared, but they charge based on the weight of the vehicle which is usually found on the registration but ours did not have it.  So now we have to go to a weigh station and get a certificate certifying the weight of the vehicle and come back *sob.*  We now have a partial registration and an appointment next Wednesday at 1:55pm.

Well then, it is time for my reunion with Taco Bell.  Even though it refuses to call me, my love for Taco Bell will still continue.

Back together again!!
Just as awesome as I remember it!  Do you think it is letting me down easy but I just keep coming back for more?  I'm so desperate.  Now I'm THAT girl.  The girl that doesn't know she's been dumped......and believes she has been dumped by a fast food chain (Another example of a previous resume boost: Doesn't take no for an answer!!!!)

And then it was time to go home and apply for jobs again.  Why is it always apply for jobs time?  I look at the clock and instead of numbers it says "Apply for jobs."  Well we needed a break so the boyfriend looks through the games that his brother has and finds a game called "Smart Ass."

Such a weird game.  Basically you roll the dice and answer questions.  Found out once again, that the boyfriend is a horrible person.
He picks up the following question card to say to me:

He reads the first clue: "I am found in the kitchen," then he stops, shrugs, and then says "well you're never going to get this."

OMG HE IS SO MEAN!!!!  Totally beat him three times though muahahahahaha he only beat me once which means I'm awesome :D

After I wiped the floor with his behind, it was back to applying for jobs.  And I realized that I am now officially WASTING my time.  I have TWICE now spent an hour each applying to jobs I've already applied to.  Bad me for not listening to my mother and writing things down.  Sad face.

I need sleep.

Day 22: Thursday

Even though we have a week until we go back to register the car, we decided to get the car weighed today to get it over with.  We wanted to make it as light as possible because the lighter it is, the less we pay for registration.  So we need to take the sandbags and the board out from the back.  Man that stuff is HEAVY. I let the boyfriend take point on that since I want him to get some leadership in (RESUME BOOST!)  I am extremely grateful that the grandparents put the board and sand bags in the back because it looks so much prettier with them in (Thanks grandparents!!!).

Not pretty
Pretty!!!!  The back of the truck, not the actual photo.  I'm such an amazing photographer.  Nevermind that I just contradicted myself.
Weigh station bound: we decided to go to the "Three Sisters Truck Stop" to get weighed.

It was pretty funny getting weighed since it is usually for trucks and we were this tiny truck on the thing.  We made sure to jump out too so the guy who wrote us the certificate couldn't guess our weight (very important to consider).  Oh and you had to get out.

Clearly exhausted and needing a break from reality, we decided to go to the movies :D Don't judge us, it is basically a requirement to see Monster's University.  As we drove into the theatre, we saw a Johnny Rockets deal where if you buy a drink and an entree, you can purchase move tickets for $8.00 (makes me so sad that that is a deal.  In Hawaii, I would've paid no more than $7.75......actually I would've paid nothing because I'm a mooch and I would've begged/guilted previous movie theatre co-workers into getting me in for free).

Here is the deal in the menu :)
That place is pretty darn cool!  There was a tiny jukebox on our table where if you put in a nickel, you can change the song!  I didn't want to spend a nickel........(Resume boost: Makes every nickel count!!!)

The boyfriend and his food
Waiter made a smiley face with Ketchup........dork hahahaha

Such a fun place, I would consider doing that again definitely!  Right after that, it was the moment we had all been waiting for...........MONSTERS UNIVERSITY!!!!!!

Obviously, I am the best scarer.......not sure if I just insulted myself....
That movie was AMAZING!!!!  SOOOO funny!!!!  And of course I was able to relate to every single character or pick out a friend or family member from the characters.  What can I say, everyone I know or am related to are a bunch of monsters :D

On the way home, we discovered the BEST. SONG. EVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVER!!  It is called "Bubble Butt." And it is amazing.  We now have a new thing to do in our free time:

Enjoying our new favorite song really made us exhausted so we made grilled cheese sandwiches at like 9pm (we are just eating later and LATER).  We ran out of sliced cheese so we used string cheese....needless to say, it was CHEESY!

Well that is all for now.  I continue to await a phone call from Taco Bell apologizing for their tardiness and an endless supply of burritos for the rest of my life.  Please pray, chant, wish, back flip, crouch, click your heels, or whatever it is you do, for me.

Enough Excitement to Last a Lifetime

Oh wait, no, I want a job.....

SPOILER ALERT: Our new car!!  Read on to hear more!
 Day 16: Thursday

Today we changed it up and we went to Costco!  It's a big difference.  It's like we went from Disneyland to Disney WORLD!  I'm starting to think Walmart should pay me for advertising them. I mean, I managed to connect them to Disneyland.  Clearly, I've got skills.  Anyways, we had to get the rental car back to Enterprise by 11:15am so we decided to take a trip to Costco since we had a trunk to put it all in.  It was horrible getting myself up in the morning just because I was SOOO exhausted from the previous day.

Our trunk filled with our Costco purchases
We drove back home and unloaded the trunk and we hopped back in.  Determined to get a ride home, we drove to the Enterprise place, walked in, and the worker there said "Need a ride home?"  Voodoo magic.

Photo of us and our first rental car before we returned it
The next several hours we spent lounging in the house plotting.  See, while we were planning to move to this house, the boyfriend's brother didn't have a girlfriend.  Now he has one and they've been together for a few weeks and we're afraid it will get serious and we'll have to move out (not really, he loves us eating all his food, running up his bills, and making a mess.  He couldn't go back to living without us for sure) so now we must break them up muahahahahaha  just kidding......I'm not a horrible person.....and if this is the first blog post you are reading, you may actually believe me.......

Got a package from the mommy!!!!!  I was SO excited.....until I realized there was underwear in it.......that I already owned >_<  I'm hoping they are clean.......just kidding again...pretty sure I'm going to get an earful on that.  I shall consider making this blog private....that or become a nice person but I already have an award winning personality, why mess with perfection? *Let the eye rolling commence*

Boyfriend gets the package and is super excited! (I made him go back to the mailbox and smile like it was the best thing in the world just for this picture :D)

Boyfriend after he grew tired of me trying to open it through Jedi mind tricks (resume boost: If patient, the force is with me!!!)
Books I asked mom to send, a bible in case I choose to be a nice person and need some tips, and a letter written on Rugrats paper!!!  I left the underwear out of the picture....nobody needs to see my granny panties AHAHAHA
Then it was time to meet up with our friend from back home, BJ.  He went to school in California and wants to be an actor so I asked him if he might be able to help the boyfriend get into the industry.  Oh and catch up of course.  That one is the most important.  Pretend I put it first.  So BJ picked us up and we went to Applebees!!!  Mostly because it was right next to us......literally had no other qualifications haha Not even sure I'd been to Applebees before......Well we went there and I was too busy cutting my napkin with a knife (don't make it weird....this is my new phrase that I invented.  It is for when you say something weird and people stare at you blankly like you're missing a chromosome and you want to make the other person feel like it is their fault....You heard it here FIRST ladies and gentlemen!!!!!) to take more pictures.
Leftovers!!
Also, turns out after 2 weeks in the house with just my boyfriend and I taking turns driving each other crazy, I get a little weird and crazy in front of people.  After eating, we went for a walk to admire our new Applebees love handles and we went to a pet store and I saw this cuuuuute doggy house.....

The boyfriend found me and just HAD to take me home.  Got all my shots and everything :)
I don't know how we did not get in trouble because I just could NOT stop laughing!  But it was super fun getting in there......I totally cut myself :S  WORTH IT.  Anyways, we walked on to Walmart and I did not get any better.  I kept seeing stupid things to do and was like "boyfriend!!!  Take my picture!!!"

Future bike and I  <--I might be dumb but I haven't forgotten my grammar
My new hat.  This is the style in California.  Don't judge it, just jump on the bandwagon!
The boyfriend told me to hula hoop with them!
So clearly it was time to take me home because no  one could take anymore embarrassment muahahahaha and that was the end of that day :D

Day 17: Friday

At Costco the day before, the boyfriend bought pancake mix!!  So I made him wake up at the crack of NOON and make them for me :)  I don't really care for pancakes usually and when I told him this, he said he could put yogurt in them and they tasted AMAZING.  Like. Yum.  That teacup is not coffee by the way, it is syrup.  Hot syrup is required.

Today was a mopey day though because as I was checking Facebook, I saw the place that I interviewed with posted a picture of their new hire.....meaning I am still jobless.  Sadness.  That's ok, I think it was because I live so darn far away.  It is an hour away which, although in Hawaii an hour away is completely normal and I swear people compete to complain over who drives the furthest, is a problem here and is a major factor for employers here.  I did not know that prior to coming here so moving to LA is a serious consideration of ours.

  Day 18: Saturday

Saturday was a cleaning day because.......*drum roll please* AUNTIE PRINCESS COMES ON SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!  And what does Auntie do for a living?  Cleans.  And what does Auntie do in her free time?  Cleans.  And what does Auntie do when she is invited to stay at your house and relax?  Cleans.  I wasn't having none of that though.  She was driving over 800 miles from Idaho to California, just to transport the car that the grandparents are selling to us so I was going to make her relax if it were the last thing I did!!!  Oh by the way, the grandparents are selling us a car because it is NOT possible to get around this part of the state without one.  So sad, I mean seriously, there is SO much smog here, how is public transportation not MANDATORY here?  See a need, fill a need.  (Resume boost: Is able to give out constructive criticism...pretty sure that's what they look for in applicants :D)  What kind of car is it?  A white one :D

Also, my horribleness has been rubbing off on the boyfriend.  We are watching TV and my stomach starts to hurt.  So I look at the boyfriend and I say "Baby my tummy hurts :("  Not that he can do anything.  I just wanted a comfort hug or something.  Instead, he looks back at me and says "Awwwww.........do you know who that sucks for?.........you." >_<  Seriously, he is awful.  I've taught him well.

Day 19: Sunday - Arrival of the Auntie

OMGAHHHHHH AUNTIE IS COMING TODAY!!!  I was so excited, I woke up at 9 am and waited for her to come at..........3pm.  Bad auntie.  Hahaha since she was making the trip all the way down here, she made sure to visit her sister-in-law who lives about 2 and a half hours away on Saturday, sleep there, and then come here on Sunday.  She, being the nice Auntie that she is, made sure to clean the windsheild and the mirrors and whatever else to make sure it was in pristine condition before we saw it.  Check it out!

1999 Ford Ranger Pickup

Pretty nice for a 14 year old huh?  We're excited, especially with the back part.  I can put a bed in there!  It's my new bacholerette pad :D

Anyways, it turns out I lied and was not able to make Auntie relax.  We just HAD to go to Costco again and then the movies :D  Costco wasn't really interesting except for eating all the samples.  Then we went to In-N-Out.  Then the movies!!!! So touristy this area.  It was really beautiful I think.  Before we go to the movies, we take some glamour shots of the car xD
Stealing from Auntie's Facebook :)
Edwards 14 Theatre and surroundings.  I don't know what it is about California Theatres but they always have fountains in front of them.
The line to the box office.  Omgoodness the things we do to watch Man of Steel.
Our big kids meal :)
So we arrive at the theatre at 6:30pm for the 6:40pm showing of Man of Steel and we are surprised to see that there is only front row seating available.  We sit down and then we remember that we spent like $30 to see this movie and we would much rather be comfortable than sit in the very front.  Onto  the 7:40 we go and have another photo shoot:

Since the boyfriend chose the movie, I am glad that he is overly excited........
I didn't like that the movie jumped around but otherwise it was a really good movie and I liked the shots.  Very pretty :D  Following that, it was 10:00pm and since Auntie had a flight at 6am the next day, we had to wake up at 3:30am.  We needed to get home ASAP so we could get some sleep!   After driving, fiddling with the car, and then talking while in bed, we honestly didn't sleep until about 1 am.

Day 19: Monday

I was able to wake up to my alarm and I turn to Auntie and I'm like "Auntie time to wake up!"  She's like "Ahhh nooooo ahhhhh."  I don't even know how to put into words the random child fit she went into hahahaha It was seriously hilarious but she didn't have to tell me twice, I hit the snooze for 15 more minutes.  In 15 minutes, Auntie got up to get ready and let me stay in bed until she was completely ready.  Then she came back and got me up and I had to wake up the boyfriend.  I go to him and poke him and he, interestingly enough, had the same fit as Auntie. So I leave him and then I come back and turn on the lights.  By the third time, I made sure he got up and we all jumped into the car.

In case you were wondering what 3am looks like.....
I was so sad that parking was so ridiculously far because I really wanted to help auntie through check-in and everything that I could but it was super expensive and far :/

Bye Auntie!!! Thank you for everything you did!  We love you!
Plus the boyfriend looks like he's about to cry on his 2 hours of sleep.  It was hilarious, we hoped back into the car and drove as fast as we could (at speed limit of course) and jumped right back into bed.

When we woke up, we were excited to go to Walmart because we could DRIVE this time!!!  Woohoo!!!! I was super excited because there is space in the car for a trash can (it's the little things that makes you happy :))

TADAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!  I LOVES IT.  Makes me feel like I'm going on a road trip!  I love road trips :)
Well I'm super exhausted still at this point so I'm glad I get to sit in the house.  At some point though, my chest started hurting.  The boyfriend left for a minute and then came back with hot chocolate.  Turns out he could see that it was bothering me and so he Googled how to make me feel better and after "Call 911" it said "Drink hot chocolate."  Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww

After that, the boyfriend's brother invites us to go to the grocery store with him.  WTH???  How is he going to the grocery store?!?!  We've been here 19 days and I have YET to see him eat a meal here.  And on top of that, we've gone to Costco like 8 million times this week and Walmart so his freezer is FULL.  Yet this is what our cart looked like:

His freezer is SO full, we LITERALLY spent an hour trying to fit everything into the freezer and fridge.  His brother even said: "Next time I go shopping, I'm going to look in the freezer first."  I almost went crazy and was like "WE TOOOOOLD YOU!!!!"  hahahahaha I need sleep.

Us doing some kind of Tetris setup
Anyways, I'm going back to my Grey's Anatomy coma.  The boyfriend really liked it so we are going back to the first season and watching it all the way through :)  hahahaha It's great!  I really love this show.

I have been getting super lazy lately and haven't much felt like posting.  I hope I don't fall out of the habit because I really like blogging.  My mom will keep me on it though I'm sure!

Good night!
